Best Somali food in Columbus! The Sambusa are amazing - every variety. I like all the food I've had here. Don't skip getting a cup of chai! It's one of the best cups available anywhere in the US.

Went there yesterday, which we discovered, is buffet only on Sundays. You can order some aps off the menu, but it was limited.
Buffet items included rice, noodles, Chicken legs, Tilapia, curry chicken lentil soup, cabbage, spinach, and Chi tea.
Place is dated, but seemed clean, and our server, Mohammed was awesome!
Got some nits tho...some dishes were luke warm (typical buffet), the Tilapia was over cooked, the chicken was dry, and my Sambusa ap, was cold in the middle (under cooked)
Now this has all the makings of a 2 or 3 star review at this point, but there were 4 things that saved them...
1. The noodles were to die for! Rich, creamy, tender, and full of flavor, wicked good!
2. The chicken legs. Crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with this killer African dry rub. Awesome...I think I ate like 8 of them.
3. The Chi tea. Rich, sweet (but no sugar in it) and a hint of cinnamon and clove, stellar good!
4. The previously mentioned service. Mohammed took care of all our needs, was friendly, and personable, great job Mohammed!
Will def go back again when the menu is open. -

Hoyo's was a stop on our Columbus Food Adventures Alt Eats tour. I had never experience Somali food before and this was a treat. Everything from the chickpeas to the goat to the bread and Somali tea had such great, diverse flavors. They will be opening a stall at the new North Market, so excited to visit both locations again. Maybe the buffet next time to try some different things!

This restaurant is kinda hidden. It's not off the street, but I definitely had to drive slow to make sure I didn't miss the turn.
I came on a Thursday at 7 and it was dead. There was one group in here and I did see some people come in and out for carry out. My friend said it's busier for lunch buffet on weekends.
I saw all kinds of people come in here, so it seems to be a restaurant that lots of people like.
There were two rooms to sit in, so there was ample space.
We both ordered chai tea, while mine had almond milk. It tasted good! Fresh!
We both ordered a beef sambusa and then goat with rice. It came with two sides. She had chickpeas with spinach, while I had spinach and cabbage.
It was a lot of food! The meals are a bit pricey sitting at around $15, but you get so much!
Everything tasted good, but still had the light flavor that everything in Columbus is like. I almost wonder if I went to another Somali restaurant in another city if it would taste the same.
It was all good! The menu isn't big, but the guy said lamb or goat are your best bets at these types of restaurants.
I took my meal home as I couldn't finish.
The place was clean.
Service seemed a bit European. They didn't check the table often. They're really nice though! Personable and everything!
You pay up at the counter when you're ready. -

Went in for the Sunday buffet. The food was good. Really enjoyed the rice and the chickpeas and loved the chai. Everything else was alright. I'll have to go back to try the sambusa and goat though!
